Birthday Celebrations, Hayrides, and More !
Posted by marissaxdance on October 17, 2011 – 9:04 pmHello Eagles Fans!
I do not want you to think I forgot about you, I have just been caught up with work and school! The past couple weeks have been extremely stressful for the fact I had my class midterms. I had so many papers, assignments, and exams. I am so happy the work load is over with and now I am even closer to ending the fall semester. In fact, I have to register for my spring courses already!
My 21st birthday just passed last Monday and I really enjoyed celebrating with my family and great friends. It was definitely one to remember. My girlfriends took me out to Atlantic City and New York City. One night was better than the next. It was a perfect break in all this work I have been bombarded with but of course fun to celebrate another year older with the people I care about. Here is a picture of my fabulous cake! I requested a pretty pink lipstick, and trust me it tasted delicious too!!
On Sunday, my friends from the studio and I went to Lindvilla Orchards. It was our Second Annual DanceAdelphia –Alumni Lindvilla Orchards Event. We started the event last year because we missed performing in our studio’s haunted house horror show. This gave us a way to still celebrate Halloween with everyone. There were 8 of us all together and we spent the day going on hayrides, walking through corn mazes, and eating delicious food! It was wonderful to see all of my friends who I grew up dancing with and just getting excited for the fall and Halloween.
Other than that, I am excited about our latest win against Washington and cannot wait until the Eagles vs. Dallas game. This is by far my families’ favorite game to go to or watch because of the everlasting rivalry! We have some great dances prepared for this game that I am sure the fans will love. I definitely have to rehearse on my own a little tonight and tomorrow to be prepared for tomorrow night’s practice.
Until then,
-Xoxo Marissa

Shake Your Pink Pom-Poms!
Posted by marissaxdance on September 29, 2011 – 2:59 pmHi Eagles Fans,
So I just got out of my last class, Communication Seminar, where we are put in groups to work with non-profits to do public relation work. While it is great experience, it requires so much work, planning, and time. My head is ready to explode because my group had to revise our proposal for Tuesday along with a presentation for our client.
I am still sulking over our loss to the Giants, but I know our beloved Eagles will make a great comeback this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so we will be using our pretty pink pom-poms! As for our diva dance for last weeks game, I think the team performed very well and we got so many good reviews on our choice of music for our quarter breaks.
I have come down with a cold last weekend that I am still currently battling. When I get sick, I get sick for weeks on end, so I am trying to get rid of it ASAP! I am on Musinex DM and Nitequil! If anyone has any great remedies, please share!
To end this on a good note, Michael gets his wire surgically removed from his mouth today! I am so excited for him. He has been very patient and calm with his whole jaw incident.
I must now go finish my homework before I go off to teach at the studio!
Until then.. GO EAGLES!
P.S. 11 day until my birthday!

Blogging on Break!
Posted by marissaxdance on September 22, 2011 – 1:08 pmGood afternoon,
I am currently sitting on my break at school and I just finished writing an outline for my ethics case study so now I can update you!
Recently I have been debating birthday plans since it is arriving pretty fast. I have decided to go to New York City for the night with my girlfriends at this great lounge called The Greenhouse. I have heard many great things about it and majority of my friends have celebrated their 21st in Atlantic City, so I thought it would be cool to try something different.
I finally picked out my Halloween costume too! But I am not going to tell you what I am. I will leave clues about my costume for you to try to figure out
. Here’s the first clue: the color is white with silver detailing!
The last appearance I did was at Chickie & Pete’s in South Philly. I live in the area so it is always nice to see a crowd of people I am familiar with. It was perfect because my parents and some close friends were able to stop by, grab some food, and take pictures with me and the other cheerleaders. Kelsey was at this appearance with me and we had planned ahead to go to dinner with Cheerleader Sarah at the Continental in Old City. It was a really nice time. We shared many thoughts, laughs, and of course tons of food! I am so happy to have built such great friendships with the girls on the team
.
I have been keeping busy with school, teaching at the studio, and working out when I have extra time. Fitness is very important, especially when wearing a uniform like the one we have and moreover, having the role an NFL Cheerleader. I need to feel confident about my body in order to feel confident in the uniform in front of thousands of fans.
Oh! And one last thing. As I mentioned in my profile response, driving my father’s corvette car was one of my favorite, thrilling moments. Well, he traded that car a few months back, and since then has been working on perfecting his new car, which is a Chevelle SS. He brought it around the house last weekend since it was gorgeous weather, and I got to test it out for myself! It was definitely fast and exciting to drive and a few guys driving beside me even gave me thumbs up as I past them! I would call that success!
PS. GO EAGLES!!! Hope you are as excited as I am for the Eagles vs Giants game!
xoxo Marissa

Settling Down into September!
Posted by marissaxdance on September 7, 2011 – 4:03 pmHi there!
It’s been sometime since I have updated you all so here goes!
Summer has finally come to an end, but I am not too sad because I really enjoyed my summer. I spent so much time with my friend & family which always makes me feel happy but I also relaxed and got to work on my tan
. I feel as though I am ready to be back in school (its my senior year!), working at the studio, and of course adapting to the fall weather. I had to start planning my 21st birthday outting as well as picking a halloween outfit! If you did not know yet, halloween is my favorite holiday!
School has been great so far. I really like my professors which is always a plus. This semester I am taking Advanced Interpersonal Communication, Communication Ethics, Contemporary Moral Issues, Organizational Behavior, and my Communication Seminar which is required as a senior. They all pretty much relate to one another which can be confusing sometimes, but also great because the material is generally the same so I am not on information overload.
I just had my orientation meeting for the studio yesterday and found out which classes I will be teaching this year. I am teaching acrobatics, cheerleading, and a pre-school class. I had to work around my school schedule and of course my cheerleading rehearsals. I’m hoping to see many of my old students but I always look forward to new faces!
On another “dancing”note, cheerleading rehearsal went well yesterday. I am in love with the new song Suzy has picked out for us to perform to for the Home Opener on Sunday September 25. I just know our fans are going to go wild when they see us in a bit of an “alter-ego.” Going with cheerleading thoughts, today we get our trading cards!!!! This is great because my family has been asking me every single week when they come in. My grandparents like to hold a handful with them so they can give them out to family and friends. They are like my own team of “Marissa promoters!” I am excited to see the new cards because Barbara has been working so hard to make them look perfect!
Well, I have some homework I want to finish before I go off to the studio & cheer rehearsal so adieu for now Eagles Fans !
–Until then.. GO BIRDS!

School supply shopping, tomorrows game, and much more !
Posted by marissaxdance on August 24, 2011 – 2:28 pmGood afternoon,
I am very much looking forward to tomorrow’s game. I will be on the sidelines cheering on our beloved Eagles. I think that Tracy’s squad will be great & I’m excited for a new season with all new girls in the squad. Hopefully some nice pictures will be snapped of us so I can post them on my next blog
.
Can you believe there are only 2 weeks left of summer? Wow, where did it go! I’ve had a very enjoyable summer so I cannot complain. In a way I am sort of ready to go back to school and the studio to keep myself busy. I went school supply shopping today. I get so excited color coordinating my notebooks, folders, and pens. Staples had some really cute stuff! Like rhinestone staplers and pens! I hope I like my professors for this semester. I’ll be sure to update you guys on that as well.
The past weekend at the shore was somewhat calm, I think it is setting in that summer is almost over and everyone seems to be saving their energy (and money) for Labor Day Weekend. On Saturday, my house decided it would be nice to have a girls’ night out so we did dinner in Atlantic City. Sometimes a girls night out is needed!! Here is a photo of us all dressed up!
My brother Michael (the one who I wrote about last time) is doing better. I actually made him drinkable pancakes last night! I cooked the pancake and then added melted butter, milk, water, and syrup to the blender and it was liquefied. I tasted it first to make sure he would like it and it was amazing that it tasted so good. He agreed it tasted just like a pancake! I’m happy I could make him feel a little better in such an unfortunate situation.
Yesterday I finally made it to the mall to do some birthday shopping. I have not been to the mall almost all summer so I had many presents to buy including one for my mom! For Christmas, my brothers and I had bought her a Pandora bracelet with several charms so we decided to get her a few new ones for her birthday. They are very pretty & I am certain she will love the addition.
Tonight I have rehearsal, we are finished with everything for tomorrow’s game so tonight will are working on new dances. I am so so sore from last night’s rehearsal so I hope Suzy gives us a good stretch! And I will end my night probably with some birthday cake for my brother Matt’s birthday which is today. Happy Birthday Matt!
–Until then,
Xo Marissa

Unfortunate Events of This Past Week.. But Always Staying Positive!
Posted by marissaxdance on August 17, 2011 – 6:14 pmHi there,
Well I have been extremely busy lately for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I received a call from my younger brother Michael last Wednesday night. The news was not good and considering the phone call was past 12AM I only had expected it to be bad news. Michael and his friends were playing “jail break” in Ocean City near his friend’s house when his one friend accidentally kicked him in the face. Mike’s bottom tooth looked like it was ready to fall out since is separated from his other teeth. As soon as he called me, my family rushed down to Ocean City to take him home. We found from his X-rays that Michael fractured his jaw in 3 places. This required him to have his jaw wired shut for 3 weeks to heal. I feel horrible for him because he is still in so much pain… even with his medicine. I have been trying so hard to come up with food ideas to make him that can be juiced or put into a blender since everything he consumes must be almost fully liquid. He is definitely being a trooper about the whole thing though. Feel better Michael!! xoxo
To make matters worse, my mother broke her thumb so that is slowing her down around the house so I have been helping her with simple things like cooking dinner, making the beds, laundry etc. Playing mom is not an easy job since all the house chores add up. But, I am certain it is great practice for when the time is right for me to become a mommy. Today for fun, I decided to make a homemade cherry cobbler! I had a little piece earlier. I am proud of my baking skills!
My first preseason game went very well. My squad had the suite appearances which were fun. Danielle and I were paired for this game. She is always a pleasure to be around! I can not wait for the next game when I can be on the field dancing the whole time!! That is my favorite part of game day, PERFORMING!!
As for practice, last nights rehearsal went well in my eyes. We pretty much finished a new quarter-break dance and tonight we will learn a whole new one. I’m looking forward to hearing the new song and to see the choreography Suzy and Lance have prepared for us.
–Until then,
xo Marissa

Boardwalk Fun with My Best Friend
Posted by marissaxdance on August 8, 2011 – 8:41 pmHey there Eagles fans!
Well I had a great weekend and I’m excited to share it! So my best friend Anna lives in New York where she goes to college. Her move there was one of the hardest transitions for me because I was use to being with her constantly. It was a good test to our friendship and I believe were even better friends from the separation. We always take time to visit one another and of course talk as much as possible. Well, Anna’s family goes to down the shore for a few weeks in August so I finally got a chance to hang out with her and her family. I drove to Ocean City and we went to the boardwalk with her sister and her 2 cousins to get some food, shop, and hang out. It was very laid back but such a great time to just be with her. We spent many of our summers together and always did the photo booth pictures so here is our 2011 one.
Saturday was my good friend Justin’s 21st birthday celebration. All of our friends went to his party to celebrate with him and close family and friends. It was really a nice time and the food was amazing. Happy birthday again Justin!! Justin’s party was really great because I got a chance to see some friends from grade school who either moved away to college or I just have not spoke to in quite some time. It made me really happy to see them
.
To top off my weekend, I got a text from my brother with a picture of me on Bleacherreport.com. It was an article on the 40 hottest cheerleaders in the NFL. To my surprise, I was included! Wow, what an absolute compliment! It really made me week. So thank you to whoever decided to include me in the list!
–Until then,
Xoxo Marissa

E-A-G..L-E-S .. Lets Go Eagles !
Posted by marissaxdance on August 2, 2011 – 2:10 pmWell hello Eagles fans!
The season is really catching up to us now! I am getting so excited!! I have a training camp appearance tomorrow morning which is really cool. So many fans come out to watch the Eagles practice it is unbelievable. I was lucky enough to go for the Military Day at training camp last year which was so nice to see all the hard working military personal who were also excited to see us cheerleaders and the team. It is definitely a pretty far drive from my house, but with a good night’s sleep and some hot tea in the morning I think I’ll be just fine
. Next week I have an appearance for the USA vs Mexico game which I am also looking forward too. Then finally…Preseason game #1 Eagles vs Ravens!!
This weekend was a beautiful shore weekend. The weather was perfect and the ocean was so nice and warm!!! I loved it. The sad part is I had to move out of my shore house on Saturday because I only had it until the end of July. For the rest of the weekend I stayed at my friend’s house. I literally lived out of my car since I did not have the chance to unpack everything. When I finally got back to the city last night my room looked like a hurricane hit it. Unpacking is the worst, I dread it. I had at least 15 pairs of shoes all over my floor. But, I definitely enjoyed my weekend. Saturday night the girls house and the guys house (which is in front of ours) took a trip to the resturant Mia’s in Caesars to hang out for a little. It was my first time in there and I would love to go back.
Today, I do not have anything currently planned at the moment. I do have cheerleading practice tonight so I will probably doing some stretching this way I won’t be incredibly sore after rehearsal.
P.S. It is Axels’ birthday! He is officially a year old! This is him as a puppy
Happy Birthday Axe !
–Until then,
Xoxo Marissa

Dear Saint Anthony!
Posted by marissaxdance on July 26, 2011 – 1:52 pmHey there,
So I am really upset right now because I have discovered that I lost my camera
. I can not even think of where I lost it and that makes me feel worse. I had it two Fridays ago and that was the last time I remember using it. It was a really nice Sony camera. It was still in great condition too. I love to take pictures and get them printed because I am a big scrap booker. But my camera also comes in handy for cheerleading rehearsal and my studio work to video the dances. I guess I have to just go buy a new one. But I am still praying to St Anthony “please come around something is lost and cannot be found.”
On a happier note, I am glad I can finally say Football is back !!!! Wow! I am sure everyone is relieved and excited that we can get the season started. We have a lot of work to get done for the first Pre-season game but I am ready!
Currently what is on my mind is school. I must order my books for the semester and my parking permit before they are on backorder. I can not believe that it is already the 26th of July! Where has the summer gone? And to think that I am going into my senior year is so scary! It feels like yesterday I was just graduating highschool. Speaking of highscool, two of my girlfriends from school were down the shore when I was but I was so sick this past weekend that I couldnt make it out to hang out. But I really do miss them and hopefully we can hang out this weekend instead.

My many decisions of the week
Posted by marissaxdance on July 14, 2011 – 12:04 amSo, what I currently have on my mind is a car. I have a nice car but I would like to upgrade it so to say! So my dad’s friend has a black convertible Mercedes-Benz that she would sell if I wanted it. I finally got to check out the car this past weekend. I must say, I absolutely adore it and it is the kind I can see myself in.. except it does not have any back seats, whatsoever. Unfortunately, that made the decision for me. I definitely had fun taking it for a spin though! I don’t plan on getting a new car anytime soon after I get my next car and therefore, I want to love it! If the car had the little seats in the back, then I probably would have bought it in a heartbeat. So, back to car shopping I go!
What I also decided to do again was dye my hair. I was not kidding when I told you the first time the sun makes it get so much lighter! In fact, at rehearsal last week, cheerleader Courtney told me she thought my hair was so much more blonde! So if it was noticeable, then I had to re-dye it before it got too light! What a dilemma right?! So here it is. not too drastic, but enough that I feel better
My other “issue” of the week was what to do with my job for this year. As you know, I teach at a dance studio. It definitely requires a decent amount of time and energy. Sometimes I work as an assistant to the owner, and often I am the teacher. So that means on my own time I come up with new choreography for class. I’m still in college, this is my last year, so I do not want to overwhelm myself because I have my Senior portfolio classes this semester. Already excited that I am part of the Eagles Cheerleading team again, I do not want to run myself thin with time. So, in result… I am coming back to the studio. I checked out all the times of my school classes, and figured out which days worked best for me to teach at the studio. But, I have a feeling this may be my last year teaching there, just because I will be done school and have time for a full-time job, hopefully in the Public Relations field (that’s my major.) But, i love dancing, and always will!
Tonight I had rehearsal for cheerleading. We went over all our new sideline dances and cheers.. so get ready Eagles fans because we are looking good ! Here is Danae, Sarah, and I after the long practice!
Until then,
