A Football Life: Reggie White & Jerome Brown
Posted by ConnieEagles322 on September 30, 2011 – 10:42 amHello Eagles Fans!
TGIF, right? Well, I just wanted to drop by with a QUICK (& short) update because I just finished watching “A Football Life” featuring Philadelphia Eagles greats-Reggie White & Jerome Brown on the NFL Network. I first heard about this feature on a sports radio talk show this morning on my way to work and so I went straight to NFL.com and it was featured on the front page!
“A Football Life” showcases the amazing careers of Reggie White and Jerome Brown and the growing friendship that developed over the course of time between the two. I’ve always heard about these great defensive players but after watching this episode I have the utmost respect for them. Players such as Brett Favre, Michael Irvin, Gary Cobbs, Phil Simms, and Troy Aikman are interviewed in this episode and it brings much pride as an Eagles fan and cheerleader to hear such positive things that these players had to say about Reggie White and Jerome Brown.
I still can’t believe I shook hands with Gary Cobbs who shared the field with Reggie and Jerome in the late 80′s and early 90′s!

Shake Your Pink Pom-Poms!
Posted by marissaxdance on September 29, 2011 – 2:59 pmHi Eagles Fans,
So I just got out of my last class, Communication Seminar, where we are put in groups to work with non-profits to do public relation work. While it is great experience, it requires so much work, planning, and time. My head is ready to explode because my group had to revise our proposal for Tuesday along with a presentation for our client.
I am still sulking over our loss to the Giants, but I know our beloved Eagles will make a great comeback this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so we will be using our pretty pink pom-poms! As for our diva dance for last weeks game, I think the team performed very well and we got so many good reviews on our choice of music for our quarter breaks.
I have come down with a cold last weekend that I am still currently battling. When I get sick, I get sick for weeks on end, so I am trying to get rid of it ASAP! I am on Musinex DM and Nitequil! If anyone has any great remedies, please share!
To end this on a good note, Michael gets his wire surgically removed from his mouth today! I am so excited for him. He has been very patient and calm with his whole jaw incident.
I must now go finish my homework before I go off to teach at the studio!
Until then.. GO EAGLES!
P.S. 11 day until my birthday!

Under the weather!
Posted by kelseyeaglescheerleader on September 29, 2011 – 10:18 amHey Eagles fans!
I know we had an unfortunate loss last week, but I have no doubt in my mind that we’ll pull through and have an amazing game this Sunday against the 49ers! We have a great team, and there will always be challenges and upsets but it’s nothing we can’t conquer together..especially with all of your amazing support and helping all of us cheerleaders cheer on our awesome team!
One other additional thing that came last weekend was that I woke up with a bad head cold Saturday morning =\. A lot of people are getting sick right now, and I have a feeling it’s due to this weather changing. So since it was the day before the game I was really hoping that I would magically wake up Sunday morning and feel completely better!…but no such luck. Even though I was still feeling pretty crappy I did not let that stop me from the excitement of the game! It was still such a thrill to walk onto that field for the home opener, and it was FILLED with so many great fans, so for the entire game I was glad I completely forgot that I didn’t feel good. Then after the game I was reminded and for the rest of this week I haven’t been feeling much better. I’m really hoping that this little cold will subside by the game on Sunday. I’ll be sure to get a lot of rest in order to be 100%!
Well I’m off to go run some errands and get some work done for the day. See you all on Sunday!!

Courtney: My First Home Opener!
Posted by COURTNEYwithaC on September 29, 2011 – 9:40 amHey Eagles fans!
So we all know that the Eagles took an unfortunate “L” on Sunday, but I’m confident that they’ll work together to fix their errors and have a great game this Sunday against the 49ers! Even though the game didn’t end well, I had an UNBELIEVABLE time. I’ve been to an Eagles regular season game before and have cheered at this year’s preseason games, but the aura at the Lincoln Financial Field was unlike anything I’d ever expected. The veteran cheerleaders had told me how intense and loud it was, but the roar of the stadium gave me the chills and goosebumps, even though it was so hot out! Being on the field was an experience that really can’t be put into words. I even got a little teary-eyed during the National Anthem… the whole experience was just so surreal — I can’t trade it for anything else in the world.
Plus, I got to see one of my most beautifulest fabulousest amazingest friends after the game, Cassidy!
Aside from intense cheerleader rehearsals and preparing for two home games in a row, I have been super busy with appearances, classes, and an academic internship. I have four midterms next week — hopefully I make it out alive!
On Monday I was at Chickie’s and Pete’s to celebrate the restaurant being voted the #1 Sports Bar in North America. Sarah and I had a lot of fun greeting fans, giving out our trading cards, and taking photos. I’ve never actually eaten at Chickie’s and Pete’s, but I’ve tried their famous crab fries, and they are certainly amazing! Everyone’s dinners looked so good, and I will definitely have to swing by soon… I have my eyes set on a lobster cheesesteak!
A few weeks ago, Chelsey and I got to attend the First Annual CAID Charity Golf Tournament at the Talamore Golf Club in Ambler. CAID, Childhood Auto Inflammatory Disease, affects so many families but currently has no known cure. The entire event was so touching and beautiful, and I’m so glad that I got to be a part of it. I thought I’d share a photo of Chelsey and me at the event:
Well I’m off to class — have a great weekend, Eagles fans!
Hope to see some of you at the game this Sunday when we beat the 49ers… GO BIRDS!

Happy Birthday Dad!
Posted by traceyeagles on September 27, 2011 – 1:30 pmHey Eagles fans!
First and foremost, I have to wish my dad a very happy birthday! Lucky for him, his big day fell on this seasons home opener last Sunday, September 25th! Talk about a great birthday celebration! He and my mom both came to the game and had a great time cheering on our team. In my family, we are big on stretching birthdays out and making them more of a “weekend event”. I have always been the one to joke that my birthday is a month-long, so as you can imagine, celebrating is something we like to do.
On Friday, I had to work for 27 hours straight with several makeup shows, so unfortunately I was unable to join my mom and dad out for a great dinner at Davio’s in center city, but I was able to join them on Saturday night for a fabulous italian dinner at the super cute restaurant Radicchio. Luckily, my super long work day went by quickly, mostly because we all had a lot of fun on and off the set. I did have to get some rest though, and I think in the span of 27 hours that I was in the building, I slept for about 2 hours! A funny story though- one of the models brought her air matters on the set so we could get some shut-eye, and after about sleeping for an hour, I realized that the mattress was deflating! It was pretty funny because I remember I was moving around a lot trying to find pockets of inflation, however it was a lost cause.
Needless to say, I needed up staying awake the rest of the day into night before passing out on my super comfy blanket that I bring with me on these long shifts. All the other models said I was sound asleep because they were standing over me and trying to do things to get me to wake up, but I didn’t budge! Here are a couple of photos of me and my 3 closest friends that I work with, Brenda, Deanna, Me and Christine. I look super short next to them, but hey- that’s the beauty of being a hair and makeup model height doesn’t matter haha
and how about being awake, or at least looking like it after we were about 26 hours in….Boy, was I tired!

After finishing work, I went home and slept for a solid 11 hours before packing up my game day bag and heading into Philly to meet my parents for my dad’s birthday dinner Saturday night! I mentioned earlier that we went to this great restaurant called Ridicchio located near 3rd and Arch in center city. It was a small place, but the food was amazing and we were able to sit outside which was wonderful because the temperature was perfect! We shared amazing grilled calamari and my mom and I both ordered the Veal Limone- which was so delicious! My dad ended up ordering this awesome pasta with proscuitto..so if you love to eat, like I do, I highly recommend this restaurant!
Sunday, I woke up bright and early and headed to the stadium for our home opener! Because it was my dad’s birthday, I wanted to have a gift waiting for him at the pro shop, so I bought him an Eagles shirt so he could pick it up and wear it for the game! You can never have enough eagles gear, right?! Anyway, since it was the home opener, nerves were in the air! I was feeling anxious and excited to be out on the field and perform what we had been working so hard on in the previous weeks. Also, because it was only my 2nd time on the field as captain, I was looking forward to gaining more experience and facing the challenges that we have as leaders. Luckily everything went smoothly and the game turned out to be a lot of fun, even though we lost- we still made some incredible plays and my squad did a wonderful job!
Now, this week we are preparing for another game on Sunday and will be rehearsing hard both tonight and tomorrow. On Friday, Cheryl and I have an appearance in West Chester, then its back for work for me pretty much straight though to the game! I can tell it is going to be another tiring week, but as I always say “C’est la vie”!
I hope you all join us and cheer on our Eagles either at the stadium or from your home next week. Until then, GO BIRDS!
Xoxo,
Tracey
Ps: enjoy this great photo my dad took from last weeks home opener!

Family + Football = Fun
Posted by Golden Curls Michelle on September 26, 2011 – 9:49 pmSo the accountant in me is coming to the surface. Here’s my equation for the weekend: Family + Football = Fun.
This weekend was full of football! I attended one, two, three football games in a 24 hour period.
Game 1: Rutgers vs Ohio, Saturday at 2 pm. My brother came in from NYC to attend the game. Its probably the first time we’ve all been together for a few weeks. Which may not seem like a long time to some of you, but it’s a long time for me. My brother, Brian, now works and lives in NYC. It’s the first time we’ve ever lived apart. We both went to Rutgers, New Brunswick campus (surprise, surprise) and we actually lived together in an apartment in New Brunswick for a few years. Truth be told, its bitter sweet. (I don’t admit that to too many people) I miss my brother when he’s away, but gosh, when we’re together, we still argue like we’re kids again. We just know how to get under each other’s skin I guess. At the end of the day, we’re still family and love each other, and have each other’s back.
Game 2: Princeton vs Bucknell, Saturday 6pm. I hate to admit it, but I left the Rutgers game at half. They were winning 21-10 so I figured it would be safe to leave and head down route 1 and catch the Princeton game. No special guests this week with me at the game, just me. It was a great time getting to talk with the other women and wives that are involved with the Princeton Football family. It gave me some great insight about what this season has in store.
Game 3: Eagles vs Giants, Sunday 1pm. HOME OPENER! Despite the outcome of the game, it’s a great feeling knowing football season is in full swing. Nothing beats Game Day! As I sit an type this blog post, I’m watching Monday Night Football, Cowboys vs Redskins. Monday nights just don’t get much better than this. My parents came to the Eagles game this week, it was the first game this year they attended. My mom is pretty handy with her zoom lens and took some great shots of the squad I’m on. It’s great to have some pictures to hold on to and remember these special moments. Here’s one of her shots:
After the game, a few of my teammates and I, went out to dinner after the game. We met up with Lindsay, a former Eagles cheerleader. She was one of my close friends on the squad, so it was great to see her after the game and to get caught up on her life. We all met up with our parents and significant others’ at the restaurant. It’s rare that our families get to meet each other as well. We all have crazy, hectic, busy schedules but every once in awhile, we find time to get together. Again, thank God my mom was there with her handy dandy camera, another great photo to remember our great time together!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Time to look forward to next week. Bring on the 49ers! Go Eagles!!!

Dani: Grateful for these moments
Posted by daniec10 on September 26, 2011 – 6:53 pmHey Eagles fans,
Wow, what an action packed week it has been for me. I have bounced from one activity to the next; it’s almost hard to keep track. This past Tuesday and Wednesday the squad completed some demanding rehearsals to prepare for the home opener. When Thursday rolled around, it was time for Open House at my school. I have been working so hard for the past two weeks to prepare for open house, but the good news is I truly feel it all paid off. The parents were all complimentary of my work and I left feeling great about the event.
By Friday, I was exhausted and very in much in need of a night off. Since I barely saw my husband this week, he treated me to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory at the King of Prussia mall. After dinner, we were on the hunt for some new shoes Scott could wear to work. He recently got promoted at work, for which I am so proud but his hours are even more demanding which means we have to be even more creative with the time we get to spend together. I didn’t hesitate for a second when he suggested looking for shoes at the King of Prussia mall. I myself was on the hunt for a great pair of new boots for the fall and winter season and wasn’t about to turn down a prime shopping opportunity. Luckily for Scott and I, we both left with a new pair of shoes we were very pleased about.
On Saturday, I had an appearance in West Grove with cheerleader Janel. Janel was kind enough to pick me up so we could drive together to the appearance. This turned out to be quite the adventure. Unbeknownst to us, many of the roads we needed to travel on were closed due to flooding. I really must have bad luck with the road gods because I have been striking out lately. Janel and I were both unfamiliar with the area, so we were a little lost trying to reroute. Thankfully, we were able to find our way and attend the appearance. I am so glad we were finally able to make it because the appearance was so much fun. We met so many excited, enthusiastic fans who were anxiously anticipating our arrival. After the appearance Saturday, I got organized for the game on Sunday and got as much rest as possible. As I got organized, I stumbled across a photo of my squad at last years home opener which made me even more anxious for Sunday’s game.
When I woke up on Sunday morning, I was overwhelmed with a sense of excitement. On my drive to the stadium, I thought back to a year ago when I was attending my first home opener as a rookie and how truly blessed I am to be part of such an amazing squad. Janel and I had the opportunity to be on the Weather Channel before the game on Sunday, so I hope some of you caught a peek of us. As I stepped foot on the field on Sunday, I was overcome with emotions. How did I get so lucky? As I stood for the national anthem, tears fell from my face. Luckily I was not alone as I looked to my left and Tiff was also crying. It is always within that moment I have a chance to take a step back and realize what I have accomplished. Its those few moments of silence in the stadium, when I can look around and thank God for being a part of such an elite squad and be reminded as to how proud I am to be an American. I wish I could begin to put it into words, – it is truly breathtaking. Unfortunately, the end result of the game wasn’t what any Eagles fan was hoping for, but I have the upmost faith in our team and I know we will come back next week stronger than ever.
Until next time Eagles fans . .

New Car, Wedding, and Home Opener!
Posted by Jen on September 25, 2011 – 9:07 pmHey Eagles fans! What a busy week it has been! I guess I’ll just start from the beginning and catch you up. Well first of all, on Tuesday I bought a new car! I really needed one, since my old car had just about 200,000 miles, and I was starting to get a little nervous driving it so much. Little things were starting to go wrong with the car, so I figured it was time to start looking for something new. I feel a lot safer driving something newer now, but I must admit, I was sad to say goodbye to my old car! I’ve had that car for seven years, and since I do so much driving, I spent A LOT of time in it.
On Friday, I went to another wedding…yes, that was the third wedding that I have gone to in the last three months! Two of my friends that I used to work with got married, and it was so nice to be able to share their special day with them. I am at the age where most of my friends are all getting married at once. I have another wedding to attend next month too! I really do enjoy going to weddings though. I love catching up with old friends, and of course, I love dancing the night away! Enjoy the photo of my boyfriend Jesse and I at our friends’ wedding.
Well, it sure does feel good to have a little time to relax right now. Today was our home opener, and it was tons of fun. Unfortunately we didn’t get the win today, but I still think the Eagles played well and will have a great season. We cheerleaders have worked so hard to prepare for today’s game, and I really think it paid off! Our new dances felt great. I hope you enjoyed them! We don’t have much time to rest though, since we have another home game next Sunday! Game days are very long and quite exhausting to say the least. We all arrived at Lincoln Financial Field around 8:30 AM today, had an hour-long rehearsal, did pre-game appearances with fans, and then performed on the field. And of course, I sat in traffic for almost two hours! I love everything about game days…except the traffic! My body usually feels pretty sore the day after a game, but I don’t really get a chance to let it rest since I have to teach five dance classes tomorrow. So needless to say, I’m going to take advantage of my night off and relax. Tomorrow is my boyfriend’s birthday, so I hope to see him for a little bit before I go to work tomorrow. I’m also excited to go out for a nice birthday dinner for him next weekend. Here comes another busy week! I hope to see many of you next Sunday!
Go Eagles!

The Rock Show
Posted by sar715 on September 23, 2011 – 12:44 pmHi Eagles Fans!
Back in June, my high school friends and I decided to buy tickets to the Blink-182 concert that took place this past weekend. Now, keep in mind I am a huge Blink fan, so you can only imagine how excited I am that they have finally reunited to tour and put out a new album. Saturday turned out to be a beautiful but chilly day. My friends and I headed over to the Susquehanna Bank Center (or as I still call it, the Tweeter Center) while chatting about what songs we had to hear them play. I named their songs “Feeling This” and “Always” as my top picks. Surprisingly, Blink opened the concert with “Feeling This”, which secured my hopes that it was going to be a great show. Hearing all of the band’s old songs stirred up great moments of my wonder years and I’m glad I got to enjoy the concert with the people that make up those memories!
Blink-182’s lyrics are so relatable, catchy, and at times just plain ridiculous, that you can’t get them out of your head. Drummer Travis Barker, my favorite band member, performed up to my expectations and impressed me more than any other show I had seen him at. I am such a fan that I caught one of his drum sticks at the Warped Tour years ago and still have it displayed on my dresser! Growing up, I always wanted to take drum lessons and watching Travis play definitely rekindled my urge to learn!
The rest of my week has been spent moving into my new apartment in Philadelphia. I am extremely excited to be living in the city and love that fact that there is never a dull moment in the capital of the Eagles! Sunday’s home opening game against the New York Giants has everyone on their toes with anticipation and enthusiasm, as a big win is expected. To prepare myself for the game I headed to my hairdresser to get highlights and a haircut. Besides looking the part of a cheerleader, I need to be able to dance like one too. This week’s rehearsals were long and grueling but I left practice excited with the thought of showing off our new, sassy dances at Sunday’s game!
Go Eagles!

Almost time for the big home opener!
Posted by kelseyeaglescheerleader on September 22, 2011 – 6:31 pmHey Eagles fans!
Who’s excited for the Eagles home opener game against the Giants this Sunday?!? I know I am!!! I’ve been waiting its arrival for awhile now, and all of us cheerleaders have been working so hard to produce such great routines for you all to see. I love our pre-game dance that we will be premiering this upcoming Sunday, so let me know what you all think…it’s definitely a crowd pleaser if I do say so myself
.
Aside from all of the preparation from the game I feel like I have been swamped with school work this week! I think it’s just because classes are fully in swing now, and a few weeks coming out of summer now professors are having the first big assignments due. Of all weeks to have a ton of assignments when my mind is totally taken over by the excitement of the upcoming game! Oh well, both cheering for the Eagles and school is very important to me, so I know I must complete everything to the best of my ability and I will be sure to work hard in everything to accomplish that. I’m quite the determined and hard working person, and I never give up before I know I gave it my best, so I will be sure to finish all of my upcoming assignments early this weekend in order to get everything done and out of the way so I can continue to prep for the home opener.
Last Friday cheerleader Sarah and I had an appearance for the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield who is collaborating with Eagles Radio network, and they had a small pep rally kick off at their company office with some of the workers, and Sarah and I along with some Eagles alumni players/current Eagles radio hosts added our team spirit. There was Eagles trivia questions and some prizes (I was really surprised at how well those working did at answering some pretty tough questions). It seemed that it brightened up their day, and that made me feel really good that we could bring such spirit to them all
.
Well I’m off to get some school work done. See you all on Sunday!
