My 25th Birthday Weekend!
Posted by traceyeagles on July 12, 2011 – 1:22 pmHey Eagles Fans!
So I’m 25, a “quarter of a century” old
I had a wonderful weekend full of surprises and events. My actual birthday wad Friday July 8th and if you were in Philly that day, then you know it poured all day. My fiance and I had made plans to go to the zoo (I LOVE the zoo!) but the second we got there, it started pouring. People were literally running to their cars and we could not see in front of us. Luckily, we hadn’t gotten out of the car yet, so we simply turned around and went home. There we just relaxed at my parents and watched Due Date. If you haven’t seen that movie, I think it’s hilarious and I literally laughed at everything. Once the movie was over it was time to get ready for a dinner out although I had no idea what we were doing that evening. Before we left I opened up some presents and was thrilled that my parents got me a new iPhone! My wonderful fiance also gave me a couples massage, mani and pedi and a dinner cruise on the Philadelphia Spirit ship. So needless to say, I am very excited about all of these gifts.
Being that it was my 25th birthday, I decided to change my look a bit and rock some crimson red lipstick with a cheetah outfit. You will see it in my photos from that night. On our way out, I really didn’t expect what was to come…we arrived at Morimoto- one of my favorite restaurants in Philly that has amazing sushi and the decor looks like you are living inside an iPod or a sea anemone! My family was strangely trying to get me to go downstairs to the bathroom with them, which I thought was a little odd but I just went….good thing I did because there was a private room downstairs that my dad rented out and it was filled with my friends! Truth be told this was my very first surprise party! I was shocked and had no idea that some of my best friends were able to make it down and celebrate with me, including current cheerleader Stephanie, Cara, one of my bridesmaids and my neighbors Kyle and Krissy! We had tons of fun and wonderful food! Here are some photos from the night enjoy!
**Thanks to Mom, Dad and Jonathan for a wonderful evening, to my sister and her husband for making the trip and to my friends who all came to celebrate!
After a great dinner, the next morning my sister, mom, Cara and I went to the bridal boutique where I got my wedding dress to try it on again so that my sister could see it for the first time! I loved putting it on again and knew all over how perfect it is for me and our special day! Once we finished there, it was time to hit the road to head to DC with my sister, her husband and Jonathan. We were really looking forward to spending some time together and we had a wonderful time touring the city and doing some touristy things.
It was super hot down in DC but that didn’t stop us from going to some of the memorials. We saw the Vietnam and World War II memorial both of which were very moving. Here is a photo of us at the WWII memorial:
One of the best parts about visiting my sister and her husband is that they love to cook. That night we had a wonderful meal consisting of barbecue chicken, watermelon salad and fabulous homemade tortellini salad. Of course we went out some more for birthday celebrations, which was great, but I really loved spending time with my sister. Plus Jonathan and Kris had some great bonding time so that made me happy! Our last day in DC everyone had to work, so I decided to be a tourist and visit The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. I spent 4.5 hours there and read everything. It was an unbelievable experience and extremely moving to me. DC really has the best museums and because the majority of them are free, one really gets to take advantage of the history and spend a lot of time there.
Now, back home I have rehearsal tomorrow and we will be teaching all of the new sideline dances we do called bumps along with the fight song routine and cheers! We have a lot to do, but I am looking forward to it.
Until next time, have a great week! And to anyone celebrating a birthday this month..HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!
Xoxo,
Tracey
